I had a great time playing in the Optimist International at Trump Doral with qualifiers from all around the country and 23 different nations. It was a fun week getting to know and play with so many different girls and having the opportunity to play one of my favorite courses, Red Tiger. I shot an Overall 221 with 75-71-75 (+5) playing in the final pairing and finishing 3rd place out of 63 girls. The 221 54 hole total is my new personal best.
Following my return from Miami, I played in my first Minnesota Golf Associations (MGA) Women's Amateur Championship. I was the youngest in the field of 87 junior, collegiate and former professional women playing a little over 6000 yards. I placed 3rd with a 54 hole total of 223, 78-72-73.
Overall, the last two weeks have helped me to be confident in my swing adjustments from the offseason along with a change to my practice routine with my short game and putting. It just all came together from tee to green which allowed me to play without thinking about my swing mechanics. It was also fun to know that I can compete with some of the best Minnesota has to offer and with some top age group girls from around the world. While I have a long way to go to achieve my dreams, I am more excited than ever to work on my physical and mental parts of my game.
